Welcome to the anger section!

Anger is a normal emotion just like any other, as any good artist knows "every color has its place!" this logic can also be applied with emotions. Some might feel shame towards their feelings, especially more destructive ones like anger and sadness. Well I'm here to say that's no good! Our emotions guide us to action, including the negative ones! Think of it this way, if someone was making you feel sad, would you just waste away and feel shame over feeling this way? Or would you lead it to better yourself and cut contact with that person? Hm I think you know which action would be best.

One of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite people is this; "May our rage and heartbreak fuel us towards action and connection" by Audre Lorde!

However, sometimes calming anger can be a bit more tricky when trauma is involved. Anger can become a defense mechanism for underlying emotions like hurt and sadness. I know that sometimes in my depression, it would morph into anger to give me energy and keep me moving.

Our emotions can also teach us about ourselves. I feel anger towards things like bigotry and discrimination, so I try my best to work with this and be understanding and caring towards others.
